During the COVID-19 Pandemic
One can register for a library card on-site or remotely. When registering on-site, a valid photo ID showing the applicant’s current Waterford or Lake Angelus address is required. A utility bill dated within the past 30 days or an official document stating that one rents or owns property in the Waterford or Lake Angelus area may be used to verify one’s residency if their picture ID has not been updated. All bills and documentation must show the applying resident’s name.

Youth Residents
Residents under the age of 18 are able to get a library card at the request of their parent or legal guardian (guardianship papers required at the time of registration). To register a child for a library card on-site, the parent or legal guardian must present a valid picture ID showing their current Waterford or Lake Angelus address. A utility bill dated within the past 30 days or an official document stating that one rents or owns property in the Waterford or Lake Angelus area may be used to verify an applicant's residency if their picture ID has not been updated. What If I do not live in Waterford or Lake Angelus?
A Waterford Township Public Library card cannot be issued to residents outside of Waterford and Lake Angelus. Please contact the library in your community about registering for a library card. Residents of communities whose library is a reciprocating member of The Library Network (TLN) cooperative can use their home library card at the Waterford Township Public Library.

Can my library card be used at another library?
Yes. A valid Waterford Township Public Library card may be used at any library in The Library Network (TLN) shared system. It is recommended that one contact the library they plan on visiting prior to their visit to inquire about reciprocating borrowing privileges and potential service restrictions amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Renewing a library card
Library cards come up for renewal every three years. To renew an expired account or an account getting ready to expire, the cardholder must visit the library during our public access hours. A valid picture ID showing the cardholder's current Waterford or Lake Angelus address is required upon renewal. A utility bill dated within the past 30 days or an official document showing that the cardholder rents or owns property in the Waterford or Lake Angelus area may be used to verify their residency upon renewal if their picture ID has not been updated. All bills and documentation must show the cardholder's name.
