Lieutenant Jake Helgemo
Program Director

Jake is a career firefighter with the Waterford Fire Department and currently holds the rank of Lieutenant.  He has been with the Department for 16 years, has been a Paramedic for 16 years, and has been in the EMS field for 18 years.  He holds certifications in American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), and is a licensed EMS Instructor/Coordinator through the State of Michigan


Capt. Jim L. Cooper Jr, EMT-P, IC

Jim is a career firefighter with the Waterford Fire Department and currently holds the rank of Captain.  He has been with the Department for 19 years, has been a Paramedic for 21 years, and has been in the EMS field for 25 years.  He holds certifications in American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), and is a licensed EMS Instructor/Coordinator through the State of Michigan.


Capt. Dan Dumas

Dan is a career firefighter with the Waterford Regional Fire Department and currently holds the rank of Captain.  He has been with the Department for 11 years, has been a Paramedic for 23 years, and has been in the EMS field for 23 years.  He holds certifications in American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS).


Lt. Jay Coomer

Jay is a career firefighter with the Waterford Regional Fire Department and currently holds the rank of Lieutenant.  He has been with the Department for 20 years, has been a Paramedic for 29 years, and has been in the EMS field for 29 years.  He holds certifications in American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), and is a licensed EMS Instructor/Coordinator through the State of Michigan.
