Complete Distribution Service Material Inventory (CDSMI)

The DPW has submitted the CDSMI to the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) as required by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR). The CDSMI was submitted prior to the deadline, October 16, 2024.

As required, the DPW completed physical material verifications of the private side and public side of service lines throughout the Township. Once the verifications were completed a statistical analysis was performed using predictive modeling to determine the probability of lead service lines in the Township’s distribution system.

During the physical verification process no lead service lines were found and the analysis concluded with 95% confidence that the probability of any single unknown service line being lead is less than 0.014 (1.4%). The materials that were found during the verification process are presented in the table below.

It must be noted that the DPW knows of one lead service line (private side) in the distribution system which was accounted for in the analysis. Plans are being made to replace the line in the near future.

As a requirement of the LCRR a community that serves more than 50,000 persons must make the inventory available online. The Township’s Service Line Inventory can be found at this website: https://lead-service-line-inventory-waterford.hub.arcgis.com.
