What is Civic Ready?: Civic Ready is a mass notification system that allows Township officials and local emergency personnel to create and rapidly disseminate time-sensitive messages to every telephone number and/or email stored in the notification database. With Civic Ready, authorized users can send thousands of timely and important messages in minutes.

What is Civic Ready?: Civic Ready is a mass notification system that allows Township officials and local emergency personnel to create and rapidly disseminate time-sensitive messages to every telephone number and/or email stored in the notification database. With Civic Ready, authorized users can send thousands of timely and important messages in minutes.

2. What types of messages will be sent with Civic Ready?: Emergencies: Messages pertaining to the safety and welfare of the Waterford community will be distributed using Civic Ready. Examples include water service interruption, missing children or seniors, or any other situation that could impact the safety, property or welfare of the community.
Opt-in Notices: In addition to emergency messages, users can choose to receive notification of community events, news and important information of a non-emergency nature.

3. How many messages will I receive?: Emergency messages will be infrequent and sent only in the case of emergency. Although it's not possible to estimate exactly how many of these messages will be sent, Waterford officials are committed to using the system in a prudent manner.
Opt-in community notifications may be more frequent. Often these are weekly messages. Some users choose to receive these non-emergency communications via email to review at their leisure.

4. Am I signed up to receive messages?: To ensure that your contact information is included in the database, simply visit www.waterfordmi.gov/emergency to sign up. It is important to include your address and your preferred method of contact to ensure you receive notices targeted to your neighborhood. If you experience any trouble signing up, please call 248-618-6097.

5. Will there be a way to identify incoming calls made by the Township through Civic Ready?: The caller-ID number for calls generated by the Civic Ready service will be 248-618-6097. In addition, every message will begin with a standard greeting indicating the call is coming from Waterford Township.
