1. How do I register to vote?

Registrations are taken at the Clerk’s Office during regular business hours. You also register to vote at any Secretary of State Office in Michigan. Waterford no longer has a local branch office of the Secretary of State. Please call 888-767-6424 to locate a branch near you.

3. How do I obtain an absentee ballot?

There is an application process to obtain an absentee ballot. For more information, please call the Clerk's Office at 248-674-6266 or visit the Election Information page.

4. What identification do I need to show at the polls?

Due to a recent court ruling, every Michigan voter who offers to vote in the polls must comply with the requirement by showing picture identification or signing an affidavit attesting that he or she is not in possession of picture identification. For more information, view the Voting Identification Requirements page.

5. Are Notary Services Available?

Notary Services are available in the Clerk's office during regular business hours. We are unable to notarize Wills or Trusts.  Photo ID required and the document must be signed in front of the Notary.

6. How do I address the Township Board?

The public is always welcome to address the Board of Trustees, during public comments, at the end of the meeting.  Public comments are limited to 3 minutes per topic.

If you would like to formally address the Board of Trustees; please contact the Clerk's office (248-674-6210) to be placed on a regular Township Board Agenda. Requests must be received the Tuesday, before the meeting at 12:00 p.m.  If submitting material, to be placed in the Board of Trustee's Agenda Packet, please provide 2 hard copies to the Clerk's office.
