The only open fires permitted in the Township are campfires for recreational purposes. Prior to any campfire, a permit must be obtained from the Waterford Fire Department. Permits can be applied for online. Anyone burning outside of the rules or without a permit may be issued a citation.
Yes, we offer a wide range of Fire Safety Programs through our Fire Prevention Office - everything from station tours to fire safety seminars for preschool children, to fire safety presentations for senior citizens. To provide the fastest patient care possible. There are 9 fire stations strategically located in Waterford Township and the City of Pontiac all equipped with fire engines and paramedic trained personnel. These paramedics can arrive at the scene and begin stabilization of the patient prior to the arrival of the paramedic unit.
