2022 dog licenses are available at the Treasurer’s Office. To obtain a license, proof of a current rabies vaccination certificate is needed. The Township sells only the 1-year license. 3-year licenses are available at Oakland County Animal Control. Please call Animal Control at (248) 858-1090 for more information. The license fees are $15.00 if the dog is spayed or neutered and $25.00 if the dog is not spayed or neutered. If the pet owner is a senior citizen (65 years or older) the license fees are $14.00 if the dog is spayed or neutered and $23.00 if the dog is not spayed or neutered.
Parks and Recreation Adult Softball League Team registration is open! Slowpitch leagues are offered for Men (Monday and Thursdays), Women (Tuesdays) & COED (Wednesday and Sundays). All leagues are Double Header games. Each team will receive one set of softballs before the season. Summer Ball Leagues are committed to teaching the game in a fun, recreational, and instructional atmosphere. We are focused on improving every player's ability while enhancing the experience for every family. Boys 5-9 and girls 5-17 have the opportunity to participate in baseball and softball at various levels. Volunteer coaches are needed. Registration runs from January 10 through - May 6, with late registration being May 7th through May 13th with a $10 fee added to the program fee. Youth Spring Soccer registration, for boys and girls born in the years 2007-2017, runs from January 10th through March 18th. Late Registration runs from March 19th – March 25th and $10 is added to the program fee. Games run Sundays, April 24th through June 5th (No games 5/29) at the Civic Center Soccer Fields. Weekly practices will be scheduled by a volunteer coach. Participants in Girls/Boys UNDER 12 and Girls UNDER 14/16 will have away games in surrounding communities on various days of the week. Participants in Boys UNDER 14 will also have away games in surrounding communities on various days of the week. Join us for the 7th Annual Waterford Township Earth Day Cleanup event on Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Volunteers will be out in the community doing their part to collect and clean up rubbish along roadways in some of the most visible areas of the Township. Students, adults, families, individuals, and groups are encouraged to participate! Community service hours available. Just a few hours is all it takes to make a real difference! The Waterford Township Neighborhood Preservation Corps is seeking volunteers for the 2022 season to help with identifying and reporting basic nuisance violations and blight conditions in the Township.
