When an emergency strikes and the routine of daily life has been drastically interrupted, the professional fire fighters of Waterford Township are sympathetic, they know the grief and anguish of those who suffer pain and tragedy. Knowing how victims suffer after an emergency, our organization has established the Fire Relief Fund.
How It Works
The Fire Relief Fund and Waterford fire fighters work together with the local businesses to provide for the immediate needs following a fire.
At the time of the fire, the firefighters on scene determine the needs of the victims and distributes gift cards if necessary.
How It's Funded
The Fire Relief Fund committee members do not solicit or expect any payment or reimbursement from persons, families or insurance companies involved in an emergency. We want nothing more than to help the community and we ask nothing in return. The Fire Relief Fund exists thanks to donations by individuals, businesses, organizations and by authorized fund raising events.
Losing everything you have as the result of fire is traumatic enough. Following a fire, our goal is to help the recovery process go a little easier.
The Fire Relief Fund has helped hundreds of families and has disbursed tens of thousands of dollars in the process to residents in Waterford and Pontiac.
