Summer Activity Centers for Ages 3-12

This summer's program theme is "All Together Now".  Each week we will offer a different community theme that features a variety of activities.  No registration is required: Just drop in during the open weekday hours and make, create, and take.  You can also take the crafts home to do instead. Hours may change.  Due to outdoor storytimes on Mondays, the craft room will open from 11:30-12:30 those days. The weekly themes are:

Week 1: Friends Forever
Tuesday-Thursday, June 20-22, from 10:00AM-12:00PM and 2:00-4:00PM

Create friendship bracelets in binary coding, paint paired friendship necklaces, and decorate sharing hearts in different medium art materials.

Week 2: Science that Serves
Monday, June 26, from 11:30AM-12:30PM and 2:00-4:00PM
Tuesday-Thursday, June 27-29, from 10:00AM-12:00PM and 2:00-4:00PM

Learn about the symbiosis of animals; create symmetry art and maker space kits.

Week 3: Expand Your World
Monday, July 3, from 11:30AM-12:30PM and 2:00-4:00PM
Wednesday, July 5, and Thursday, July 6, from 10:00AM-12:00PM and 2:00-4:00PM

Paint the world around you; make your own laminated bookmarks with colored pencil art, friendship quotes, and magazine photos; make clip-on love bug art

Week 4: Community Connections

Start your own garden, work together to solve a mystery, and create community kites

Week 5: Working and Playing Together
Monday, July 17, from 11:30AM-12:30PM and 2:00-4:00PM
Wednesday, July 19, from 10:00AM-12:00PM and 2:00-4:00PM
Tuesday, July 18 and Thursday, July 20, from  2:00-4:00PM

Enjoy our percussion petting zoo, and make a simple harmonica and a rain stick.

Week 6: Kindness for Everyone
Monday, July 24, from 11:30AM-12:30PM and 2:00-4:00PM
Tuesday-Thursday, July 25-27, from 10:00AM-12:00PM and 2:00-4:00PM

Fold origami butterflies, paint watercolor art, and make no-sew blankets for community kids in need.  Also, help complete our giant floor crossword puzzle!
