Summer Activity Centers for Ages 3-12

This summer's program theme is "Libraries Rock!"  Each week we will offer a different theme that features a variety of activities including music, art, and science.  No registration is required: Just drop in during the open hours and make, create, and take.  The weekly themes are:

Week 1: Music Rocks
June 19-20 from 10:00AM-12:00PM and 2:00-4:00PM
June 21 2:00-4:00PM (afternoon only)

Try out our musical petting zoo, make a wind chime, and play “name that sound”.

Week 2: Symphony of Science
June 25-28 from 10:00AM-12:00PM and 2:00-4:00PM

Children will experiment with squishy circuits, water, and other household items.

Week 3: American Anthem
July 2, 3, and 5 from 10:00AM-12:00PM and 2:00-4:00PM

Celebrate America by making a patriotic sun catcher, wreath, and a wind decoration while listening to music unique to America.

Week 4: Rock Art
July 9-12 from 10:00AM-12:00PM and 2:00-4:00PM

Paint and decorate garden rocks, make a rock photo holder, and crate a pet rock. We might even have a "rock" concert.

Week 5: Sounds of Nature
July 16-18 from 10:00AM-12:00PM and 2:00-4:00PM
July 19 from 2:00-4:00PM (afternoon only)

Replicate natures sounds with a rattlesnake rattle, rain stick, bird caller, and elephant noisemaker.

Week 6: World Orchestra
July 23-26 from 10:00AM-12:00PM and 2:00-4:00PM

Make a musical instrument from different continents along with a craft. A different world region is featured each day.
